Sharon Love Runs an International Software Company

Headshot of Sharon Love

Sharon Love, the President and CEO of Community Brands (CB), is our ninth guest of Humanizing Software, where we explore the concept of software and its relationship to humans. Community Brands is a provider of cloud-based software and payment solutions to associations, nonprofits, faith-based groups, and K-12 schools. Sharon shapes company culture while running an organization with over 2,000 employees across 30 countries. Community Brand’s most valuable resource is its people, all 120,000 clients they serve, and the thousands of communities impacted by their work.

Achieving Community Mission with Technology

I joined Community Brands because I wanted to be part of a company where our success meant the world was a little better off.

Sharon Love

Community Brands is a technology partner that functions as a mediator between an organization and its mission. They have worked with nearly 10,000 nonprofits and government entities over three decades of service. Community Brands has a strong commitment to bettering the community – wherever that community is. They appreciate the humans behind the operations, be it a non-profit, school, or association.

The types of services they offer include tools like software dedicated to donor management, event management, job board and career center management, enrollment management, tuition management, and the list goes on.

Executing Excellence in Leadership and Innovation

Prior to leading the Community Brands team, Sharon held numerous leadership roles at companies like FedEx, Dell, Lenovo, NCR Corporation, Cardlytics, and Vista Equity Portfolio Companies, where she helped build and run operations at scale.

At FedEx, she was the Director of Innovation Research & Product Strategy. In the Innovation Department, Sharon was responsible for defining and growing “FedEx 2.0” while the 2008 recession took place. At Dell, Sharon was the Senior Manager of Managed Services Product Management and Delivery where she reached 300% growth and was chosen to lead a $100 million P&L for the Corporate Accounts Division. Her efforts paid off because customer satisfaction substantially increased for the company!

The footing for her success started with Resolutions EBS, Inc., Sharon’s own company she founded in 1996. In 1998 the company won the CRM Solution of the Year award for their smart and efficient resolutions for customers’ software problems.

Now, she contributes her time and expertise as an Advisory Board Member at YellowBird, an online marketplace connecting businesses to the right environmental, health, and safety professionals.

Consistency and focus are at the core of her professional practice. With experiences ranging from building robust international business plans to achieving consistent customer satisfaction, managing multi-million budgets, and driving innovation, she’s led many companies to expand their operations by solving problems with a human touch. Sharon has been finding technology solutions for customers for over 25 years, that’s why she is a superb example of our “people’s first” mission.
